Instructor(s): Chris Clark, Professor of Economics and Diana Young, Associate Professor of Psychology

Instructor(s) home department(s): Economics, Psychological Science

Goals

The Georgia College Nudge Unit is a student driven organization applying behavioral economic principles to solve problems for local businesses and organizations in Middle Georgia. In exchange for tailored, empirically supported solutions, student members gain the experience of exercising classroom knowledge in the real world.

Issues Involved or Addressed

In recent years, the GC Nudge Unit has consulted with multiple campus partners: the GCSU Office of Sustainability (recycling efforts), GCSU Auxiliary Services (employee absenteeism), GCSU Retention Committee (factors influencing student retention), the Learning Center (student engagement with Learning Center resources), and University Housing (student participation in weekend programming). The GC Nudge Unit is excited to collaborate with businesses and non-profit organizations throughout Middle Georgia in the future.
